April craziness . . .

Our last couple months in Arizona brought craziness one after the other!  Near the beginning of April Mike had his jaw surgery.  So luckily we got Nedra to come visit us and watch the three older boys for a week while Mom and Turner were in El Paso, TX with Dad for his surgery.  Yes . . El Paso, TX.  We had to go to El Paso way too many times in about two weeks!!  The boys did great with Nedra and had a great time - they didn't even miss us - they did miss Turner however!

So here are a few pics before the big surgery.

Everything went very well, so the doctor said.  When Mom first walked in to see Dad - she wasn't quite sure what to think because he did look different - he was swollen a little but not too bad.  The first month was pretty hard on him - completely liquid diet.  I wish I had a picture but he had to eat all his food through a syringe and tube.  He cringes to this day when he sees one.

During all of this  . . .the boys played baseball this year!  They loved it and they did a great job!  We loved going to watch them play!  Will was on the Red Wings and Dixon was on the Scrappers!

We also celebrated Dad's 34th birthday about a week after he got home.  Too bad Mom couldn't find a good recipe for blended up cake - so we had an ice cream cake.  We had the Gailey's over for the celebration . . and of course our favorite . . the missionaries - Elder Wardel and Elder Peterson!
